Dr. Amy Laws
Veterinarian
Dr. Amy Laws grew up in small town, Nashville, Arkansas. Her love of veterinary medicine started at the tender age of 8. She got a job working for Dr. Russ Smith when she was in high school, cleaning kennels and assisting with patients. Dr. Amy attended undergraduate school at Southern Arkansas University for two years and was then accepted into Louisiana State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her degree in 1997 and moved to northeast Arkansas. After meeting her future husband, Tim, on a blind date, they married and relocated to Harrisburg. She worked as an associate for doctors in Northeast Arkansas before opening her own clinic in Harrisburg in 2014. The experiences she gained from working for other clinics gave her great insight on how she wanted her clinic to operate. Dr. Amy enjoys providing services to both the general public and rescue groups. She has a passion for small animal surgery. Dr. Amy’s favorite part of the job is seeing the bond between her clients and their pets and strives to give each patient the best medical care to ensure a long, healthy, happy life.
When she’s not working, Dr. Amy enjoys reading and spending time with her family. The Laws have two children, along with two dogs, several cats, and four horses.
